I certainly prefer a white background. Screens should look like a piece of paper, white and dark ink.Also, "courrier new" looks fine for me.
I also prefer white background. Even my "Command Prompt" is switched from black background and white fontcolor to white background and black fontcolor.As font I like the standard "courier new".
